PARENTING WITH BRAINS IN MIND

Learn how understanding the brain of the child can improve our parenting based on neuroscience in this 4-hour workshop.

Learning to be a great parent depends on learning how to manage stress, understanding brain-based cues and learning to respond in ways that will get the child’s brain back on track. The first half of the workshop provides an overview of how children’s brains function to demystify their “problem” or difficult behaviours. Parents are given basic tools to practice at home that can begin to reinforce a stronger relational connection with their child to support improved behaviour.

This is a parenting skill-building workshop that offers a number of proven strategies for reinforcing the parent-child relationship that make parenting feel more rewarding. Time is provided to discuss issues parents face in supporting their children’s social-emotional development. The aim is to have parents leave this session feeling more confident and comfortable to raise healthy and contented children.
