Lurline Raposo MA, RCC, RPT
Registered Clinical Counsellor and Play Therapist
I have been working professionally with children and their families for two decades. As a registered Play Therapist I'm required to have considerable experience and advanced training and supervision to work effectively with children, adolescents and their parents. In addition to my play therapy specialization, I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. I've completed additional post-graduate studies in Child and Youth Counselling, Couple and Family Therapy, Addictions, Health Psychology, Parenting Capacity Assessments and Clinical Supervision.
I am registered with the Association for Play Therapy and I also hold membership with the BC Play Therapy Association. I have been a member of the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science, the professional organization that supports Acceptance and Commitment Therapy practitioners, since 2008.
I use a variety of therapy methods to assist clients including but not limited to: Traumatic Incident Reduction (TIR), Attachment Focused Family Therapy, Gottman Couples Method, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Brain-Based Parenting, Internal Family Systems, and other Mindfulness-Based therapy models.
I received my undergraduate degree in Sociology and Anthropology in 1995 and worked as an Executive Director of a local branch of a national, non-profit children’s organization for 5 years before completing my graduate studies. I have been married for over 27 years and have a young adult son and daughter. I recently moved back to coastal BC to be near to my family after being away for 10 years.
